Application of System Engineering to Project Management

Abstract: System engineering in complex systems has transitioned into a well detailed, universally accepted, client-oriented methodology. Unfortunately, this approach hasn't been adopted in most commercially mandated research and development organizations. This article acknowledges that to improve the success of projects, it is essential to understand the benefits of managing product requirement with system engineering. In discussion is the application of system engineering in improving the success rate through better r… Show more

“…The regular adoption and use of modern technology, the change inlatency of business processes makes it more challenging to decide suitable maintenance strategies (Galli, 2018b).In this light this paper investigated the effect of preventive maintenance on the reliabilities of machines on the bottling plant of a beer manufacturing company. The research compiled quantitatively using six months of real-time data.…”

“…Quantitative decision-making in the field of engineering management includes risk decision-making, deterministic decision-making, and nondeterministic decision-making. Risk decision-making refers to the method by that project management decision-makers predict unlikely situations (Terweisch, 2002;Galli, 2018a;Galli, 2018b;Galli, 2018c;Parast, 2011;Parker, Parsons, & Isharyanto, 2015). The most commonly used method to address risk decision in engineering management is the decision tree.…”

“…Let's assume an 'n' array finite discrete probability distributions (pdf) such as (F 1 , F 2 , F 3 , …… F n ) ε Δ n where Δ n = {(F 1 , F 2 , F 3 , …… F n ), F i 3 0, i = 1, 2, 3…..n, n 3 2, } with random variables (X 1 , X 2 , X 3 , …… X n ) then Renyi entropy for independent and additive random events is given as (Galli, 2018).…”
