We aimed to review of the Eccentricity dimension of the Dimensional Clinical Personality Inventory (IDCP), through two steps.The first one focused on developing new items and the second on testing the psychometric properties in a sample of 225 subjects (70.1% females), aging between 18 and 66 years, mostly undergraduate students (58.9%). The subjects answered the IDCP, and the Brazilian versions of the NEO-PI-R, PID-5 and MIS. The first step resulted in 42 items, which 22 were new. The ResumenDimensión Excentricidad del Inventario Dimensional Clínico de la Personalidad: Revisión y psicométricas propiedades. El estudio tuvo como objetivo revisar la dimensión Excentricidad del Inventario Dimensional Clínico de la Personalidad (IDCP), en dos pasos.Uno para el desarrollo de nuevos ítems y otro para probar las propiedades psicométricas en una muestra de 225 sujetos (70,1% mujeres), con edades entre 18 y 66 años, estudiantes universitarios en su mayoría (58,9%). Los sujetos respondieron el IDCP, y las versiones brasileñas del NEO-PI-R, PID-5 y MIS. El primer paso resultó en 42 ítems, los cuales 22 eran nuevos. El segundo, dio lugar a una mezcla compuesta de 18 ítems, agrupados en seis factores interpretables, Desapego interpersonal, Estilo excéntrico, Paranormalidad, Estilo persecutorio, Despersonalización y Inexpresividad emocional, con coeficientes de consistencia interna de 0,85 para el total, y entre 0,60 y 0,82 para los factores. Las correlaciones entre los instrumentos revelaron relaciones consistentes y esperadas. Los datos demuestran la idoneidad de la nueva dimensión Excentricidad del IDCP.Palabras clave: rasgos de personalidad; tests psicológicos; trastornos de la personalidad.

Subjects answered the DCPI, the NEO-PI-R and the PID-5. The scale was revised and came to a set of 35 new items and 13 original items. Based on analytical procedures we established a solution of five factors composed of 18 items, with internal consistency coefficients of .90 for the total and ranging between .73 and .83 for the factors. Coherent correlations between the instruments applied were also found. We concluded that the reviewed dimension is more adequate in comparison with its original version.Keywords: personality disorders; psychometrics; psychological test. Revisión de la dimensión desconfianza del Inventario Dimensional Clínico de Personalidad ResumenEl presente estudio tuvo como objetivo examinar la dimensión desconfianza en el Inventario Dimensional Clínico de Personalidad (IDCP). Participado 230 sujetos de 18 a 63 años (M = 23.00; SD = 9,44), con 76,4% de mujeres. Los sujetos respondieron a la IDCP, el NEO-PI-R y el PID-5. La escala fue revisado y llegó a un conjunto de 35 nuevos ítems y 13 ítems originales. Sobre la base de los procedimientos analíticos establecimos una solución de cinco factores compuesto por 18 ítems, con coeficientes de consistencia interna de 0,90 para el total y oscila entre 0,73 y 0,83 para los factores. También se encontraron correlaciones coherentes entre los instrumentos aplicados. Forced-choice questionnaires have been proposed as a way to control some response biases associated with traditional questionnaire formats (e.g., Likert-type scales). Whereas classical scoring methods have issues of ipsativity, item response theory (IRT) methods have been claimed to accurately account for the latent trait structure of these instruments. In this article, the authors propose the multi-unidimensional pairwise preference two-parameter logistic (MUPP-2PL) model, a variant within Stark, Chernyshenko, and Drasgow's MUPP framework for items that are assumed to fit a dominance model. They also introduce a Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) procedure for estimating the model's parameters. The authors present the results of a simulation study, which shows appropriate goodness of recovery in all studied conditions. A comparison of the newly proposed model with a Brown and Maydeu's Thurstonian IRT model led us to the conclusion that both models are theoretically very similar and that the Bayesian estimation procedure of the MUPP-2PL may provide a slightly better recovery of the latent space correlations and a more reliable assessment of the latent trait estimation errors. An application of the model to a real data set shows convergence between the two estimation procedures. However, there is also evidence that the MCMC may be advantageous regarding the item parameters and the latent trait correlations.
