Applications of High Resolution Electron Microscopy to Materials Research

Abstract

This paper reports current results of high resolution transmission electron microscopy done mostly in the author's laboratory. By the use of many-beam imaging technique, quasicrystal structure of rapidly solidified Al-Mn-Si alloys, interface and grain boundary of permanent magnets of Sm-Co based andFurther a commensuration process of the long period superstructure of Ag3Mg at about 600K and the cubic-tetragonal phase transition of V3Si around 13K are observed in-situ for investigating the kinetic behavior of phase transitions.
