Applying region-aware cyclic patterns to object recovering energy-efficiently in sensor networks

Abstract

Recovering the missing objects energy e f ficiently in sensor networks have been widely discussed in recent years. Most of the existing methods simplified the recovering problem and assumed that the deployment region is a plane. In practical sensor networks, however, the deployment is not fully planar but consists of many small partitions. A new method is required to recover the missing objects in this kind of sensor networks. In this paper, we will propose a method that can apply the region-aware cyclic patterns to the improvement of flooding in OTSNs. Through empirical evaluation, our proposed method is shown to deliver excellent performance in terms of energy e f ficiency.
