Approach for Collision Minimization and Enhancement of Power Allocation in WSNs

Abstract: Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) have attracted much more attention in recent years. Hence, nowadays, WSN is considered one of the most popular technologies in the networking field. The reason behind its increasing rate is only for its adaptability as it works through batteries which are energy efficient, and for these characteristics, it has covered a wide market worldwide. Transmission collision is one of the key reasons for the decrease in performance in WSNs which results in excessive delay and packet loss.… Show more

“…Although effective initially perform well, this strategy has higher delay and low throughput as the duration of the simulation time increases. By calculating the retransmission likelihood of packet arrival and the average energy usage, we may avoid transmission collision [14]. As energy consumption at individual nodes climbed above 50%, however, throughput began to degrade.…”

“…It reduced traffic congestion but failed to consider the compensation of transmission time. Singh et al 32 implemented an approach, which reduced the collision and power consumption. Also, the reliability, redundancy, and transmission of the model were improved.…”

“…A hierarchical topology with H-sensors serving as CHs may be achieved by using the LOCK function, as shown in the example below. It is the L-sensor that fulfills the role of a cluster member [34]. It is possible that each SN will get a part of the whole 112 broadcast because of the different transmission ranges of ANs.…”

“…Due to the fact that only diagonal elements are kept in each SN, the method's storage needs are very low. Since all connections start or terminate at a compromised node are protected by pair-wise keys, the compromise of a node has an effect on all connections that originate or finish at the compromised node [34]. Given that SNs are only usable inside their cluster, replication and usage of SNs outside of their cluster are made ineffective.…”
