Approaching Superfoldable Thickness-Limit Carbon Nanofiber Membranes Transformed from Water-Soluble PVA

Abstract: Recent progress in flexible electronics has attracted tremendous attention. However, it is still difficult to prepare superfoldable conductive materials with good biocompatibility, high sensing sensitivities, and large specific surface areas. It is expected that biomimetic methods and water-soluble precursors like poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) for electrospinning will be utilized to solve the above problems. Inspired by the multistage water management process of a spider spinning dragline silk, we have established… Show more

“…However, the majority of the existing photothermal conversion agents are unable to be implemented in clinic attributed to their complicated and time-consuming fabrication procedures and possible long-term safety concerns [ 33 ]. Developing biomimetic nanoplatforms derived from naturally components via convenient procedures is highly beneficial [ 16 , 34 , 35 ], because they can be easily and gradually decomposed into nontoxic small molecular metabolic components [ 36 ]. Melanins are natural occurring biopolymers distributed in various parts of living organisms, possessing excellent biocompatibility and biodegradability [ 37 , 38 ].…”

“…Therefore, metal materials with high conductivity and catalytic properties can be easily mixed or doped with carbon fibers to form composite carbon nanofibers. Such modified materials often have synergistic effects and stronger electrochemical properties [7–21] . In our previous report, it was known that SnO 2 was an excellent conductive material with good conductivity in aqueous solution [22] .…”
