Approaching the problem of time with a combined semiclassical-records-histories scheme

Abstract: I approach the Problem of Time and other foundations of Quantum Cosmology using a combined histories, timeless and semiclassical approach. This approach is along the lines pursued by Halliwell. It involves the timeless probabilities for dynamical trajectories entering regions of configuration space, which are computed within the semiclassical regime. Moreover, the objects that Halliwell uses in this approach commute with the Hamiltonian constraint, H. This approach has not hitherto been considered for models t… Show more

“…t em(WKB) aligns with t em(JBB) at least to first approximation. As outlined in the Conclusion (see [50,51,52,53,6,54] for more details), this justifies the WKB ansatz leads one to a Machian Semiclassical Histories Timeless Records combined scheme: Level 3 of the current program. The present article covers Levels 1 and 2.…”

“…This is since its its trick by which the chroniferous cross-term becomes the time-derivative part of a TDSE is exclusive to WKB ansatz wavefunctions. a) and b) are then resolved by a combined (semi)classical-histories-timeless records scheme, as per [53,6,54] (built upon the non-Machianly interpreted [50]). This begins with b) being addressed by decoherence.…”

“…The S n ij (x) are then given by S n ij := D j S n i + D i S n j (for each of the o, e superscripts) and the P n ij (x) are traceless objects given by P n ij := D j D i Q n /{n 2 − 1} + S ij Q n /3. An important distinction to make is between the plain perturbation scheme of (16) and the modewise perturbation scheme of (17,18).…”
