The hotel industry in Iran faces critical challenges that underscore the urgent need for sustainable practices, specifically in the realms of energy, water, and food. Despite industry growth, a mere three percent of hotels fall into the five- and four-star categories, emphasizing the need for widespread adoption of sustainable practices. Focused on Ramsar in Mazandaran, the study underscores the importance of eco-friendly strategies to tackle challenges related to the food–water–energy nexus. Employing the SCOC, Fuzzy BWM, and Z-MARCOS methods, the research proposes a robust framework for evaluating hotel development strategies. The case study reveals a concentration of hotels in Khorasan Razavi, Mazandaran, and Tehran, urging prioritization of sustainable practices in these regions. Analyzing Ramsar’s climate, the study suggests leveraging solar energy and implementing green roofs, emphasizing an integrated approach to achieve eco-friendly hotel construction. Furthermore, the research provides a prioritized set of strategies based on SCOC, aligning with criteria regarding the water–energy–food nexus. It emphasizes internal strengths, opportunities, and strategic technology partnerships while acknowledging external challenges such as political stability and climate change risks. The discussion introduces an Importance–Performance Analysis (IPA) to guide managerial decisions, presenting an insightful perspective for effective strategy implementation in Iran’s evolving hotel industry.

The surging global demand for renewable energy has fueled the expansion of offshore wind energy, leveraging superior wind profiles and technological advancements in offshore wind turbine technology. Despite this growth, the operational experience of floating offshore wind turbines still needs to be improved as an emerging technology. Addressing this knowledge gap, our study compiles a comprehensive database of failure events associated with these turbines. Employing a rigorous analytical approach through the Fuzzy Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) methodology, we conduct an in‐depth failure analysis of floating offshore wind turbines. This investigation allows us to identify the most critical failure modes and pinpoint components vulnerable to failures. The paper delves into the root causes of these significant failure modes, proposing preventive and corrective measures based on our findings. Our recommendations serve as a strategic guide for stakeholders, offering insights to enhance offshore wind turbines’ design, operation, and maintenance practices and the broader wind farm infrastructure. Despite this, further clarification on the application and highlights of the fuzzy FMEA model is warranted in the abstract, a point we address in the revised conclusion to enhance our study's overall clarity and completeness.

Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) is acknowledged as a beneficial instrument for identifying and mitigating system failures. However, the traditional FMEA method has its limitations. For instance, crisp numbers fail to adequately represent the intricate information and cognitive nuances of experts. Additionally, the conventional approach overlooks the significance of weights assigned to FMEA experts and risk factors (RFs). Furthermore, the simplistic ranking of failure modes in traditional FMEA does not accurately reflect priorities. In light of these drawbacks, this paper introduces an innovative, fully data‐driven FMEA method, leveraging a probabilistic uncertain linguistic term sets (PULTSs) environment and the Weighted Aggregates Sum Product Assessment (WASPAS) method. In the assessment process, PULTSs serve as linguistic tools that express probability distribution, allowing for a more reasonable and precise description of information. To address the issue of weights for RFs, the regret theory and Modified CRITIC method are employed. Subsequently, the WASPAS method is applied to determine the risk rankings of failure modes. To illustrate the feasibility and rationality of this novel FMEA model, the paper includes an example involving the production of Lithium‐ion batteries. To emphasize the excellence of the proposed FMEA model, sensitivity and comparative analyses are carried out.
