Archaea, bacteria and termite, nitrogen fixation and sustainable plants production

Abstract: Certain bacteria and archaea are responsible for biological nitrogen fixation. Metabolic pathways usually are common between archaea and bacteria. Diazotrophs are categorized into two main groups namely: root-nodule bacteria and plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria. Diazotrophs include free living bacteria, such as Azospirillum, Cupriavidus, and some sulfate reducing bacteria, and symbiotic diazotrophs such Rhizobium and Frankia. Three types of nitrogenase are iron and molybdenum (Fe/Mo), iron and vanadium (Fe… Show more

“…Protein hydrolysates, especially those that contain antioxidant peptides, are obtained from natural components, and many researchers and scholars consider them biostimulants because of their minimum side effects, easy absorption, low cost, high activity, and lower molecular weight [ 123 , 124 , 125 , 126 , 127 , 128 , 129 , 130 ]. Protein hydrolysates and peptides can be used as notable ingredients in the formulation of functional foods [ 131 , 132 , 133 , 134 , 135 , 136 , 137 , 138 , 139 , 140 , 141 ]. They can be used as foliar sprays or through drip irrigation systems, and the amino acids can be absorbed through both leaves and roots [ 142 , 143 , 144 ].…”

“…The major genus of Actinobacteria is streptomyces, and various strains of streptomyces can promote biocontrol pests and plant growth, weeds, diseases, and phytopathogenic microorganisms by producing phytohormones such as IAA, enzymes, siderophores, antibiotics, volatile organic compounds, and some other secondary metabolites [ 262 , 263 , 264 , 265 ]. Streptomyces spp.…”

“…AMF belong to 11 families, 25 genera, and nearly 250 species [191]. Arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) symbiosis is the widespread mutualistic relationship between fungi and plants and plays an important role in nutrient exchange, ecosystem sustainability, the enhancement of plant stress resistance, and the development of host plants [192][193][194][195][196]. AMF increase the C allocation of the host plant below ground, which can form a microbial community composition [197].…”
