Asian Multilateralism in the Age of Japan's ‘New Normal’: Perils and Prospects

Abstract: This paper makes three related points. First, Japan has played an instrumental role in helping to define the shape and substance of multilateralism in Asia in ways deeper than scholarly literature on Asia's regional architecture has allowed.
