Assembly of Metal–Organic Frameworks on Transition Metal Phosphides as Self-Supported Electrodes for High-Performance Hybrid Supercapacitors

Abstract: In this work, the composite electrode composed of metal–organic frameworks and transition metal phosphides is first assembled on the nickel foam substrate. The as-prepared NiCo-MOF-74@Ni12P5/NF exhibits excellent performances with ultrahigh specific capacitance (12.8 F/cm2 at 1 mA/cm2), stable charge–discharge rate (82.8%), and excellent cycling stability (reserve 73.90% after 5000 charge and discharge cycles at 30 mA/cm2), which are better than those of NiCo-MOF-74@NF without phosphating treatment of nickel f… Show more

“…This step makes the NF substrate cracked and rough, allowing more nanosheets to be immobilized. 23 Then, a piece of Ni 12 P 5 /NF was used as a selfsupporting substrate to immobilize the Zn−Co−S nanosheet array. This process produced three materials named Zn−Co− S@Ni 12 P 5 /NF-1, Zn−Co−S@Ni 12 P 5 /NF-2, and Zn−Co−S@ Ni 12 P 5 /NF-3 by varying the solvent ratios in the solvothermal process, and the volume ratios of H 2 O and C 2 H 5 OH were 1:3, 2:2, and 3:1, respectively.…”

“…Ni 12 P 5 /NF was synthesized by in situ subjecting NF with NaH 2 PO 2 as a phosphating agent at the temperature of 300 °C. This step makes the NF substrate cracked and rough, allowing more nanosheets to be immobilized . Then, a piece of Ni 12 P 5 /NF was used as a self-supporting substrate to immobilize the Zn–Co–S nanosheet array.…”

“…In the subsequent cycles, the two electrodes become relatively stable, resulting in stable capacitance retention of the device from 7500 to 20,000 cycles. Thus, the CCHH-A-P//CC ASC device still had 91.2% capacitance retention after 20,000 cycles, which was better than the results reported for many advanced ASCs, as shown in Table S2, indicating its good cycling stability. ,,,,,,, …”

“…The device CoP/Mo-NiCo-P//AC demonstrated a high energy density of 64.7 W h kg –1 at 800 W kg –1 . Ma et al introduced a unique strategy to form a NiCo-MOF/Ni 12 P 5 /Ni foam electrode . Phosphating Ni foam formed Ni 12 P 5 /Ni foam, and then, a composite is made with NiCo-MOF74 using the hydrothermal method.…”
