The purpose of this study is to find out whether trust affects the intention to use the shopee blessing application, whether risk affects the intention to use the shopee blessing application, and whether motivation affects the intention to use the shopee blessing application. Then the researcher added experience as a moderation variable in the study that can moderate trust, risk, and motivation towards the intention of using the shopee blessing application. This study uses the UTAUT2 theory which explains the extent of the difference between the intention to use and the actual use of technology by consumers. To obtain research data, researchers shared a questionnaire by selecting a Likert scale as a measurement, using the STATA version 16 application as data analysis. To see the results of the study, researchers used moderated regression analysis (MRA). From the results of the research conducted by the researcher, it can be concluded, that the trust variable affects the intention to use and the experience can moderate the trust in the intention to use the shopee blessing application, the risk variable does not affect the intention to use nor can the experience moderate the risk to the intention to use the blessing shoppe application, and the motivation variable does not affect the intention to use the blessing shoppe application, and the motivation variable does not affect the intention to use but experience can moderate motivation towards the intention of using the blessings.

In an incisive analysis of the marketing mix's impact on small retail businesses in Durban's Central Business District (CBD), this study scrutinizes the extended 7Ps framework: product, price, place, promotion, process, people and physical evidence. Utilizing a quantitative methodology, data from 217 owner-managers, captured via a 5-point Likert scale, were analysed through ANOVA and Tukey's HSD tests, unearthing deep insights. The findings disrupt conventional marketing paradigms, revealing that an intense focus on product attributes does not correlate with enhanced performance. Small businesses that maintained competitive, yet balanced pricing mechanisms outstripped are those that engages in fierce price wars, underscoring the dangers of excessive price reductions. Strategic promotional activities and well-considered choice locations were pivotal, whereas overemphasis on physical evidence and internal processes proved detrimental. The study results advocate for a balanced, strategic approach to the marketing mix, urging small businesses to rethink traditional priorities. This study offers crucial guidance for business owners seeking to optimize performance and calls for targeted policy measures to support the retail sector’s growth and sustainability.

Unemployment, poverty, and lack of income contributed to the rising number of people participating in informal trading (Zhanda et al., 2022). Informal street traders are faced with many challenges, namely, unavailability of funds, support from the government, infrastructure, lack of management skills, and marketing skills (Connor & Charway, 2020; Manzana, 2019). Hence, this research investigates the contributions and challenges of informal traders in local economic development in Thulamela municipality. The research was quantitative in nature and used a self-administered questionnaire to collect data. The questionnaires were hand-delivered to the respondents. Probability sampling techniques, specifically, cluster sampling was used to sample 100 Thulamela municipality informal traders. A 96 percent response rate was achieved in this research. Descriptive statistics were used to describe the collected data. The study found that informal street traders experienced lack of financial assistance from government, lack of management skills, and lack of marketing skills. However, the research established that the informal sector creates job opportunities, income source, and lead to poverty reduction. Consequently, it is recommended that government and private sector should initiative strategies to support informal traders. Informal traders should strive towards formalizing their business to access support offered by government and private sector.
