Assessment of cognitive function and physical activity status in patients with arterial hypertension depending on age

Abstract

In recent decades, the prevalence of arterial hypertension (AH) and its complications has been steadily increasing. Current strategies for curating hypertensive patients include not only achieving targeted blood pressure levels but also preventing the risk of cardiovascular complications. Recently, scientists in Europe and the world began to pay attention to the study of cognitive impairment arising from hypertension. Thus, the aim of our work was to study cognitive functions (CF), the level of education, and the status of physical activity in patients with hypertension, depending on age. 67 patients with stage I-III hypertension (plaque and/or MI) were examined, which were divided into 3 groups: group I-25 middle-aged people, group II-22 elderly patients, group III-20 senile people. The groups were statistically different in age and were comparable in duration of hypertension and blood pressure (BP).
