Background: Stroke is the leading cause of mortality and disability worldwide; 87% of all deaths from stroke and 89% of all stroke-related disability-adjusted life-years occur in low- and middle-income countries. Objective: The goal of this study was to examine nurses' knowledge and practice for patient with stroke. Methodology: Design: A cross-sectional design was used to achieve the objective of the study. Setting: Data were collected from Neurological Wards and emergency department of Al-Sadder Medical City. Sample: A non-probability (purposive) sample consisted of (60) nurses. Results: The majority of the nurses in both groups are those with age’s group between (25-29) years old and the high percentages of participants in both groups (53.3%) are females for study and control groups. Overall assessment of nurses' knowledge regarding management of patients with stroke was moderate with (0.52) mean of score. Overall evaluation of nurses' practices regarding management of patients with stroke was poor with (0.522) mean of score. Conclusion: This study revealed the nurses' knowledge, regarding management of patients with stroke was moderate and nurses' practices regarding management of patients with stroke was poor. Recommendation: Development and application of periodic educational and training courses for nurses regarding the management of stroke.

Background: Stroke is a devastating disease that has a high mortality, morbidity, disability, and healthcare cost impact in the United States. Stroke is one of the most serious brain disorders that can result in death or chronic neurological impairment. Objective: this study aimed to determine the effectiveness of interventional program on nurses' knowledge concerning nursing management for Patients with Stroke. Methodology: Quasi–experimental study design was used with the application of pre and posttest approach for both studied and controlled groups at Al-Sadder Medical City, the study has been carried out during the period 1st September 2021 to 1st May 2022. A non-probability (purposive) sample of (60) nurses was split into two groups: (30) nurses were exposed to the nursing interventional program as the study group, and (30) nurses were not exposed to the program. Results: The majority of nurses in both groups are between the ages of (25 - 29), with a significant proportion of female participants (53.3 percent) in both the study and control groups. Overall assessment of study group knowledge regarding management of patients with stroke at the Pre-test was moderate with (0.52) mean of score and Post-test was good with (0.92) mean of score.

Background: It is estimated that the burden of care for stroke patients' care providers is increasing in the world due to the lack of support from the organizations and associations. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of health education about care of stroke patients on the burden of care providers and their quality of life. Setting: Neurology Department for nursing staff and stroke out patients' clinic for family care providers at Tanta University Hospitals. Design: A quasi-experimental. Subject: All nurses 50 from Neurology Department and convenience sample 70 of family care providers. Tools: 6 tools were used: Tool (I) Nursing Interview Questionnaire. Tool (II) Expanded Nursing Stress Scale. Tool (III) Family Care providers Interview. Tool (IV) Zarit Burden Questionnaire. Tool (V) Ways of Coping Questionnaire. Tool (VI) Quality of Life (SF-36) Questionnaire. Results: Immediately after implementation of the educational program; (62.0%) of the studied nurses had occasionally stress factors, and (72.0%) of them had increase in quality of life. As well as (67.1%) of the family care providers had mild to moderate burden and (54.3%) of them had increase in quality of life. Conclusion: Immediately after implementation of the educational program there was an enhancement in the studied nurses and family care providers’ knowledge, using of coping ways, and quality of life and reduction in the care of burden. Recommendation: Further study is recommended on large sample and in different hospitals settings in order to generalize the result.
