Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis are forms of inflammatory bowel disease affecting approximately 1% of the population. Their typical features include chronic diarrhea, abdominal pain, and weight loss. Extraintestinal manifestations may coincide with or precede the diagnosis of these diseases.
