Association between serum uric acid levels of patients with gout and their complications and examination fees: A cross‐sectional analysis

Abstract: Objective Correlation influence factor analysis of gout patients' serum uric acid (SUA) levels, their examination fees, and various complications were explored. Methods From January 2017 to December 2021, 17 666 patients with gout were obtained. Conduct quartile grouping according to gout patients' SUA levels was used to compare the differences between groups in terms of examination fees and complications. Kernel density estimation method was adopted to analyze the data distribution, Spearman and Mantel‐Haensz… Show more

“…4,5 UA has been proposed to be associated with metabolic syndrome, hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, dyslipidemia, and thyroid dysfunction. [6][7][8] Additionally, there has been an increasing focus on the link between UA levels and the severity of pulmonary disease. 9,10 Lung function testing is a valuable tool that offers objective measures to aid in diagnosing, clinical management, or surgical preparation of individuals with respiratory symptoms or those at risk of respiratory disease.…”

“…Renal diseases and cardiometabolic events frequently occur in patients with gout, derived from crystal-induced inflammation, hyperuricemia, and concurrent comorbidities, leading to significant morbidity and mortality. [18][19][20] Renal crystal deposition may also have a direct, detrimental role, 21 while consistent artery wall deposition remains a matter of debate. [22][23][24] In order to tailor preventive strategies, it would be of high interest to identify baseline predictors of subsequent renal and cardiovascular events.…”
