Association of the correlation between age-related renal failure and osteoporosis based on trabecular bone score in Bushehr Elderly Health (BEH) program
Abstract:Purpose
Osteoporosis is a systemic disease characterized by decreased strength of bone and increased risk of fracture in old age. Age and pathologic renal failure are independent risk factors for osteoporosis. However, it is not determined whether age related decreased renal function in the context of senescence can be considered as an independent risk factor for osteoporosis. Therefore, this study conducted to evaluate the effect of senescence induced renal failure on bone quality and trabecular bone score.
