Asymptotically flat wormhole solutions with variable equation-of-state parameter

Abstract: In this paper, we study exact wormhole solutions in the framework of general relativity with a general equation of state that reduced to a linear equation of state asymptotically. By considering a special shape function, we find classes of solutions which are asymptotically flat. We study the violation of NEC as the main ingredient in the wormhole physics. We investigate the possibility of finding wormhole solutions with asymptotically different state parameter. We show that in principle, wormhole with a vanis… Show more

“…This information allows us to close the θ -system determining the full θ μν tensor (and, consequently, the full energy-momentum tensor of the solution) and the decoupler function, f (r ), therefore closing the problem at least from a mathematical point of view. This approach motivates and also allows to support the idea that these type of solutions can be constituted by the dark sector, which dominates our Universe [11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][41][42][43]. Even more, it provides a possible interpretation of the contribution introduced by MGD.…”

“…It is worth mentioning that Eqs. (15) and (19) are the hydrostatic equation describing the balance of the configuration. As can be seen there is a missing term in both expressions.…”

“…In all of these papers, the violation of the NEC is inevitable in the whole of wormhole spacetime. Some authors have studied the wormhole with a variable EoS parameter in which ω = p ρ is a function of radial coordinate [62][63][64][65][66][67]. In some of these studies, the violation of energy condition is inevitable in the whole of spacetime [62].…”

“…They have investigated the possibility that these phantom wormholes be sustained by their own quantum fluctuations. In [67], a general formalism to find asymptotically flat wormholes with variable EoS parameter has been presented. Also, the physical difference between the cut and paste method and the intrinsically asymptotically flat wormholes which minimize the NEC has been discussed.…”
