Abstract:Doppler echocardiographie features typical of cardiac tamponade have been
reported. We describe the Doppler findings in a case of neoplastic effusion in a
patient who presented two episodes of cardiac tamponade in a 3-month period.
The first one was related to wide circumcardiac effusion, whereas the second
one was caused by loculated effusion with massive compression of atrial
walls. The differences between the Doppler findings of the two episodes are
discussed.
