Abstract:This paper presents the results of experimental and theoretical studies of the optical characteristics of fibers made from silicate glasses with coatings in the form of a polycrystalline film or nanoparticles of vanadium dioxide in the wavelength range 0.8-1.8 μm. It is shown that the variation of the optical properties of the coating with temperature causes efficient attenuation modulation of the optical signal in the fiber. The modulation depth in fibers with a nanocomposite coating is a factor of 3-4 times … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
