Background
N6-methyladenosine(m6A) modification regulates the processes of RNA splicing, subcellular localization, translation and stability by changing the RNA structure and the interaction between RNA and RNA-binding proteins to ensure the timely and accurate expression of genes. In this study, we investigated m6A regulators and m6A-related genes and for the first time explored effective prevention and treatment targets in endometriosis (EM).
Methods
By incorporating the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database, biological information analysis technologies, and validation of other databases, aberrant m6A-methylated genes and m6A-related genes were uncovered, as well as efficient therapeutic drugs.
Results
METTL3, RMB15B, FTO, YTHDF1, and YTHDF2 might be vital m6A regulators, and GGT5 and CAMK1D may be essential m6A-related genes of EM. A few crucial small-molecule agents supply new views for the treatment of EM.
Conclusion
These results demonstrated novel insights into m6A methylation of EM and revealed potential biomarkers and precision medicine strategies for EM.
