“…In spite of the bulk knowledge about APA, the concept of autoimmune basis of infertility is still controversial, particularly regarding the presence of ACL [10] [11] [18]. In the present study, the significantly higher ACL IgM positivity rate in women with primary infertility was consistent with that reported by other workers [12] [14]. This may be due to the ability of ACL antibodies to cause tiny blood clots, preventing blood from flowing to the reproductive organs or placenta [6]- [8] [19].…”

“…Moreover, anti-beta2-GPI antibodies induce the activation of endothelial cells, resulting in a proinflammatory state which favors the prothrombotic diathesis of the syndrome [13]. Marai et al (2004) [14] demonstrated a significant association between ACL and anti-antiphosphatidylserine with infertility compared to control parous women. Moreover, studies suggested a possible role of ACL in failure of implantation after in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer [14] [15].…”

“…Our study, as well as the previous research [11] [12] [15] [16] [23], has demonstrated that infectious inflammatory processes of various etiology, endocrine changes, antiphospholipid syndrome, and other disorders in the female body, as well as combinations of the above mentioned changes that have causal relationship to adverse pregnancy outcomes are accompanied by certain abnormalities in the production of embryotropic antibodies. During the preconception care after the first ELI-P-Complex testing, abnormal content of embryotropic antibodies was revealed in 92.4% (n = 2041) of Group A women.…”

“…Data of the literature show that anti-dsDNA may be present in 2 % of women with habitual abortions (14). Of antibodies against extractable nuclear antigens (ENA-Profile), 3-component antibody to non-histone proteins (anti-SS-A) (especially in association with elevated serum immunoglobulin E levels) as well as antibodies against ribonucleoproteins (anti-RNP), when present in high titres, may lead to abortion (14,22). As APS, that belongs to acquired thrombophilias, is usually demonstrated in patients with repeated events of thromboembolism which cannot be explained by other causes, these patients require life-long anticoagulation (2, 3).…”
