Back Cover: Approaching White‐Light Emission from a Phosphorescent Trinuclear Gold(I) Cluster by Modulating Its Aggregation Behavior (Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 50/2013)
Abstract:Light up the world … … with white light from gold. In their Communication on page 13472 ff., D. Li and coworkers introduce an organic chromophore, thiophene, into a classical trinuclear gold(I) pyrazolate core that gives off aurophilic phosphorescence. The cooperation of dual emissions in the blue-green and orange-red regions underlies this solid-state white-light emitter, along with a red-emitting crystalline polymorph that assists the interpretation of this unusual observation in gold photochemistry.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
