Abstract:In this paper, a backfire suppressed aperture coupled circularly polarized (CP) stacked patch antenna for universal ultra-high frequency (UHF) radio frequency identification applications is presented. Cross-polarized backfire radiation patterns were successfully suppressed by a planar high impedance surface (HIS) reflector.
