Baicalin modulates NF-κB and NLRP3 inflammasome signaling in porcine aortic vascular endothelial cells Infected by Haemophilus parasuis Causing Glässer’s disease

Abstract: Haemophilus parasuis (H. parasuis) can cause vascular inflammatory injury, but the molecular basis of this effect remains unclear. In this study,we investigated the effect of the anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and anti-oxidant agent, baicalin, on the nuclear factor (NF)-κB and NLRP3 inflammasome signaling pathway in pig primary aortic vascular endothelial cells. Activation of the NF-κB and NLRP3 inflammasome signaling pathway was induced in H. parasuis-infected cells. However, baicalin reduced the productio… Show more

“…PAVECs were isolated, identified, and cultured as described previously, with minor modifications [ 52 , 53 ]. PAVECs were obtained in small sheets after treatment of aortic lumen (30 min, 37 °C) with 0.1% type I collagenase (Sigma, St. Louis, MO, USA) in M-199 medium (Gibco, New York, NY, USA) containing penicillin–streptomycin solution (Gibco).…”

“…Here, we collect natural telomerase inhibitors reported in the literature and summarize their telomerase inhibition effects, structures, possible mechanisms, and provide references for pharmaceutical chemists searching for suitable lead compounds. Table and Figures and show natural products and chemical structures that target the telomere elongation process …”

“…We have previously demonstrated that the anti‐inflammatory effects of baicalin are mediated through the suppression of the NLRP3 inflammasome pathway in a lipopolysaccharide (LPS)‐challenged piglet mononuclear phagocyte model (Ye et al, ). Baicalin also suppresses the secretion of the inflammatory cytokines and HMGB1 via NF‐κB and NLRP3 signaling in Haemophilus parasuis (HPS)‐stimulated piglet cells (Fu, Liu, Chen, et al, ; Fu, Liu, Xu, et al, ; Fu et al, ). Furthermore, baicalin can reverse apoptosis initiated by HPS by altering PKC–MAPK signaling (Ye et al, ).…”
