“…While we did not find any demographic or clinical characteristics that differentiated those who activated the system because of a fall, we did observe that approximately 37%–39% of PAV clients who identified arthritis as a health condition with assessors activated the system because of a fall more than once between 2012 and 2014. This appears to be consistent with prior research that reported people with osteoarthritis are at a higher risk of falls and fall‐related injuries (Hill et al, ). Given the strong association between osteoarthritis and falls risk, further work on ensuring that effective falls prevention interventions are integrated into the routine care of people with arthritis is warranted.…”
