Ballast tanks sizing and ship stability analysis

Abstract: Ships have always needed ballast to operate successfully. Ships have always carried solid ballast which was found in form of rocks, sand and many other heavy materials. These were loaded and unloaded when the cargo loading or the discharge operation was finished. This method helpeded maintaining the stability of the ship and its seaworthiness. The main idea of this paper is to realize a complex analysis of tracing the shapes and the stability of ship and sizing of ballast tanks.
