Batik Wastewater Treatment Using Simultaneous Process of Electrocoagulation and Electro-Assisted Phytoremediation (EAPR)

Abstract: The aims of the study are to identify the effectiveness of wastewater treatment from the Batik industry using a simultaneous of electrocoagulation (EC) and electro-assisted phytoremediation (EAPR). Rough horsetail (Equisetum hyemale) was used as an accumulator plant in the EAPR system. Electrocoagulation was conducted for 1 h at a constant voltage of 20 V in 10 L solution, while EAPR was processed for 7 day at a constant voltage of 5 V in 17 L solution. The chemical oxygen demand (COD) of water was determined … Show more

Additionally, this method had been evaluated under the actual conditions to predict the viability of EP system in the future on the remediation of industrial effluents [ 20 , 21 , 22 ]. Mostly, the method was performed in the hydroponic system to eliminate the effect of extrinsic on the phytoremediation of soil variables include the temperature, precipitation, insect attack and geological background [ 14 ].…”
