Abstract:We study the crossover from the Bardeen-Cooper-Shrieffer (BCS) regime to the Bose-Einstein-condensation (BEC) regime in an anisotropic trapped quantum gas of ultracold fermionic atoms. Using an effective two-dimensional Hamiltonian with renormalized interactions between atoms and dressed molecules, we extend the Gaussian pair fluctuation theory to quasi-two-dimensional systems. The equation of state, pair size and sound velocity as well as the convexity parameters of the Goldstone mode are investigated to show… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
