Beekeeping Practice and Honey Production in North-East Dry Land Areas of Amhara National Regional State, Ethiopia

Abstract: This study was carried out to evaluate the beekeeping husbandry practices and honey production in three districts of Waghimra Zone (Abergell, Sekota and Gazgibala). To collect the data, 332 respondents were selected using systematic random sampling from the three districts. “…Crop production, livestock production and beekeeping were ranked as rst, second and third sources of income, respectively. In line with this result, Kalayu et al (2017) and Dinku (2018) noted that beekeeping ranked third source for household income in North-East dry land areas of Amhara region and Sidama zone of Southern region, respectively.
