Phlebitis secondary to vascular access is one of the most frequent complications in hospital care. This study aims to evaluate the scientific activity related to this complication through a bibliometric analysis. The search was performed on a single day, 23 January 2023, to ensure the inclusion of all articles and to avoid bias caused by the daily updates of the open access database. The data were recovered from Web of Science. The sample comprised a total of 1596 publications that met the inclusion criteria. The United States was the country with the largest number of publications, citations, and international cooperation with respect to phlebitis and vascular access. The most important author was Rickard CM. Of all the publications selected, a total of 1586 (99.37%) were original articles. The highest number of articles on the subject was recorded in 2021, and the most common research areas were General Internal Medicine and Nursing. The analysis of the clusters (KeyWords Plus and Author keywords) and co-occurrences enabled identification of areas of interest and their possible development. These areas included the prevention, risk, and associated complications of catheter-associated phlebitis. Other aspects that are a priori relevant, such as assessment and treatment, were found to be little investigated. While research on this subject is increasing internationally, more collaborations are still required between researchers, as well as new approaches related to the management of catheter-associated phlebitis. The dimensions that should continue to be considered in new research, according to the findings of this review, are instruments for phlebitis assessment and their validation, and the treatments to follow in the case of established phlebitis. For this reason, the bibliometric information presented is key for new or consolidated researchers in the field, especially because of its practical and clinical implications for patient safety.

This bibliometric study provides a comprehensive analysis of the burgeoning field of nanovaccine research, leveraging data sourced from Scopus and employing the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) flowchart for the meticulous screening, inclusion, and exclusion of relevant studies. Utilizing sophisticated bibliometric tools, such as Biblioshiny and CiteSpace, we dissected the expansive literature to unearth critical insights into the annual scientific output, identifying key contributors and pivotal publications that have shaped the domain. The analysis delineates the most influential authors, sources, and globally cited documents, offering a macroscopic view of the field's intellectual structure and growth trajectory. Trend topics and thematic mapping underscored the evolution of research foci, from fundamental immunological mechanisms to cutting-edge nanomaterial applications. Factorial analysis and keyword co-occurrence networks revealed the intricate associations and thematic concentrations within the literature. The study's robust methodology also pinpointed the keywords exhibiting the strongest citation bursts, signifying emergent areas of intense academic interest. Networks of cited authors illuminated collaborative patterns among scholars, while timeline network visualizations of country collaborations depicted the global interplay in nanovaccine development. Crucially, this study identified notable research gaps and practical implications, suggesting directions for future investigation and highlighting the translational potential of nanovaccines in public health and personalized medicine. This bibliometric investigation not only maps the current landscape but also charts a course for the trajectory of nanovaccine research, emphasizing its role as a cornerstone of innovative immunotherapeutic strategies.

Aim: Methanol, which is a type of toxic alcohol, can cause poisoning through voluntary or involuntary exposure. It is known that the frequency of methanol poisoning has increased especially recently. The aim of this study is bibliometric analysis of scientific studies conducted on methanol poisoning in Web of Sciences (WoS) database. Methods: Studies in Web of Science database including the words “methanol” or “methyl alcohol” in their title and the words “poisoning” or “poison” or “toxicity” or “toxic” or “overdose” as the subject were reviewed as of 21.08.2023. “Web of Science Categories”, “Web of Science Index” and “Document Types” categories were used as filtering options. Language of article, year of publication, the journal in which it was published, the publishing company to which the journal is affiliated, authors of the article, institutions of authors, the country where the study was conducted, whether financial support was received and citation status of the study were analysed and evaluated. Results: A total of 548 articles were included in the study. It was found that language of most of the studies were English (n=536; 97.8%) and they were published in journals that were in Science Citation Index-Expanded (SCI-E) (n=451; 82.3%) indices. It was found that the highest number of articles were published in 2020 and the country in which the highest number of articles was published was the United States of America (n=143; 22.7%) Conclusion: The present study performs a bibliometric analysis of articles on methanol poisoning in WoS database. The data found in this study can be a valuable source for other researchers and a guide future studies.
