Bicluster CC Algoritm Analysis to Identify Patterns of Food Insecurity in Indonesia

Abstract: Indonesia is known as an agricultural country. This means that most of the population work in the agricultural sector related to food. However, food insecurity still occurs in Indonesia. With the COVID-19 pandemic, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) stated that there was a threat of food scarcity which had an impact on food insecurity conditions. This would undermine the second goal of the SDGs, which is to end hunger and create sustainable agriculture. The purpose of this study was to determine the s… Show more

“…represents the variation associated with the interaction between rows and columns in the bi-cluster [13], [14]. According to [15], the quality of a bi-cluster will be better as the residual value decreases and/or the volume (rows × columns) of the bi-cluster increases.…”

“…Ref. [13] also conducted a bicluster analysis study using the Cheng and Church algorithm to identify patterns of food insecurity in Indonesia. This study produced five biclusters with the best parameter tuning based on the smallest MSR/V (0.017), namely δ=0.1.…”

“…Various studies on biclustering have been performed, but most of them just focus on bioinformatics such as gene expression data (Babichev et al, 2018;Cao et al, 2023;Huang et al, 2020). Recently, biclustering can be implemented in various fields (Silva et al, 2022;Candelise et al, 2021;Kaban et al, 2019;Lin et al, 2019;Novidianto & Irfani, 2020;Wang et al, 2016). Furthermore, biclustering involves a diverse range of algorithms.…”

“…[5] and [6] applied the CC algorithm to poverty cases in East Java (38 regions × 15 variables) and Central Java (35 regions × 15 variables). In addition, [7] applies the CC algorithm to food insecurity cases with a data matrix measuring 34 regions × 12 variables. The CC algorithm application in this previous study only used the intra-bicluster evaluation function.…”
