“…This has been endorsed by Rangus and Slavec (2017) who revealed that absorptive capacity mediates the relationship between decentralisation and innovation performance. Zotoo et al (2020) affirms that knowledge-based dynamic capabilities influence innovative performance. Kaya et al (2020) offers a new perspective that innovative performance can be further enhanced by organisational learning and inter-organisational communication through collaboration; while Kafourus et al (2020) on the other hand studied specifically the effects of research and development (R&D) collaboration with domestic and foreign partners outlining the types of collaborations that yield greater innovation performance.…”

“…Previous researches contribute to the theory by studying the relationship between organizational structure and team performance (Walheiser et al , 2021; Chión et al , 2019; Burcharth et al , 2015; Chen et al , 2010; Damanpour, 1991) and the impact of dynamic capability on project team innovative performance (Ali et al , 2019; Zotoo et al , 2020; Gonzalez and Melo, 2021); however, there is a gap in the literature as to studies that simultaneously address two antecedents of project team performance: knowledge-based dynamic capability and organizational structure. This study extends the contribution of previous works by proposing that the capability of a project team to absorb external knowledge and to coordinate, create and combine internal knowledge is a critical factor for increasing innovative performance.…”

“…The capability to adapt and renew competences highlights a firm among its competitors regarding its innovative potential and knowledge plays a central role in this transformation process (Denford, 2013). Knowledge, in this context, can be defined as explicit and tacit, information and knowledge, or, even, regarding its content, as managerial, technical or commercial (Zotoo et al, 2020). Zheng et al (2011) propose three knowledge capabilities: KAC, KGC and KCC, which are used in this research as constructs related to knowledge-based dynamic capability.…”
