“…In 2014, the Integrated Operations Centre of Belo Horizonte (COP-BH in its Portuguese abbreviation) was created mainly for the need for strategic coordination in decision-making during the reception of the Football World Cup of 2014 in Brazil. This initiative explores the potentialities of big data to strengthen public security, just as had already been done in other Brazilian capitals, including in the city of Rio de Janeiro, where the Operations Centre at City Hall in Rio was created (Alberto & Ersoy, 2016).
