Bile Salts and Lipolysis

Abstract: (1) The intravenous injection of sodium dehydrocholate in doses of 10 ml of the 20 percent solu- tion in 11 healthy subjects led to a significant decrease inlipacidemiafrom 831 ±300 pmol/lto758±287 jtmol/l (PC0.001). An injection of saline did not affect lipacidemia. (2) Hormone-sensitive lipase was activated by an infusion of 300 ml of saline with 0.5 mg noradrenalin given over a period of 80 min in 10 healthy subjects.
