Bio-inspired building blocks for all-organic metamaterials from visible to near-infrared

Abstract: Light-harvesting complexes in natural photosynthetic systems, such as those in purple bacteria, consist of photo-reactive chromophores embedded in densely packed “antenna” systems organized in well-defined nanostructures.
