Bioactive Components and Volatile Compounds According to Illite Addition in Saururus chinensis Baill Cultivation

Abstract: : This study was carried to investigate the effect of illite addition on the growth, bioactive components and volatile compounds of leaf on Saururus chinensis Baill cultivation in greenhouse. Illite addition on Saururus chinensis Baill cultivation resulted no significant effects on the aerial part. However, the root part was highest in 5% illite addition group. Crude oil and ash amount increased as illite additives was increased. Ca of inorganics and free sugars contents were highest in 5% and 20% illite addit… Show more

“…In the fruits, total polyphenols and ABTS + were significantly increased by a prototype-B treatment, whereas total flavonoids were lower compared to the control (p < 0.05). A previous study (Lee et al, 2014) also observed that an application of illite resulted in the significant increase in some of antioxidants from Saururus chinensis leaves, and this was in line with our finding. Taken together, it is expected an obvious enhancement of some of antioxidants in a prototype-B application is a synergistic effect of illite and chemical fertilizer.…”

“…Treatment Dry weight (g plant -1 ) NPK treatment, although the growth rate was lower in a prototype-B. Our results were in line with previous observations from pepper (Lee et al, 2010(Lee et al, , 2012a(Lee et al, , 2012b(Lee et al, , 2014 and cherry tomato (Kim et al, 2010). In a view of a practical use, it is suggested that a prototype-B could certainly improve plant growth and mineral uptake.…”

“…Illite effectively improved the germination and growth of lettuce [38]. The crude oil, ash, calcium, free sugars, hyperoside, and isoquercitrin contents were increased in Saururus chinensis Baill [39]. Considering the mineral element composition and other benefits of illite in plant growth and development, this study aimed to investigate the effect of seed soaking with illite solutions on the growth and quality of soybean sprouts.…”

“…The ceramic material that was chosen in this study was illite, which is rare worldwide, but about 500,000,000 tons are found in reserves in Yeongdong-gun, Chungbuk, South Korea. 8) Illite is a platy clay mineral and has a layered alumino silicate structure consisting of two silica tetrahedrons and one alumina octahedron. The chemical formula of illite is…”
