“…Three tumor‐bearing mice received intravenous injections of TiSe 2 NSs (8 mg kg −1 , 100 µL), and the Se content in the tumors (8 and 12 h) was analyzed alone based on previous studies. [ 22,72 ] The concentration of Se at 8 h (10.65 µg g −1 ) was lower than that at 12 h (11.80 µg g −1 ); therefore, 12 h post‐injection was chosen as the time‐point for NIR laser irradiation. Then, the mice were also anesthetized and sacrificed at different time‐points post‐injection (12 h, 1 day, 3 days, 7 days, and 14 days).…”

“…Besides their excellent physical characteristics, BPNSs also exhibit chemical reactivity toward ROS [130]. The layer-packed structure of BPNSs promotes the electron transfer as well as the oxidative reaction, leading to the excellent capability of scavenging ROS [131]. Previously, the roles of BPNSs as antioxidants were examined in an AKI murine model [130].…”

“…Geng et al have further demonstrated that BPs tent to accumulate in tumor cells but not the normal cells mainly because of the puissant energy‐dependent endocytosis and BPs suppress tumor growth by apoptosis‐ and autophagy‐mediated cell death (Figure 2C). 44 In vivo tumor imaging has been carried out with near‐infrared fluorescent Cy5.5‐labeled BPs, and results show that BPs aggregate in the liver tumor at 6 h postinjection but degrade gradually in 48 h (Figure 2D). An explanation of the different cytotoxicity may be that higher energy metabolizing rates, more prominent cellular uptake of BP nanosheets, and faster intracellular degradation occur in cancer cells compared to normal cells.…”
