Biometrics Security Based on Face Recognition

Abstract: Biometrics is a rapidly developing technology, which has been broadly applied in forensics such as criminal identification, secured access, and prison security. The biometric technology is basically a pattern recognition system that acknowledges a person by finding out the legitimacy of a specific behavioral or physiological characteristic owned by that person. In this era, face is one of the commonly acceptable biometrics system which is used by humans in their visual interaction and authentication purpose. T… Show more

“…3D face modeling is a challenging subject in computer graphics and computer vision [1]. More so than 2D face models, 3D face models can genuinely convey face deformation and show variability through greater details [2][3]. With these in mind, 3D face models have been applied to a range of applications involving movies, 3D animation, and telecommunications.…”

“…For example, the recognition of features characterizing chessboards (lines and grid points) is applied in autonomous vehicles systems [30], which can identify road situations and make appropriate decisions based on the information they receives via optical sensors [25,24]. Another significant application that could directly benefit from work on detecting chessboards, particularly the step for recognizing chess pieces, is face recognition [6]. Face recognition algorithms are widely used in various security applications, such as authenticating individuals [23].…”
