Bis(2-hydroxyethyl) Terephthalate-Modified Ti3C2Tx/Graphene Nanohybrids as Three-Dimensional Functional Chain Extenders for Polyurethane Composite Films with Strain-Sensing and Conductive Properties

Abstract: Incorporation of functional nanofillers can unlock the potential of polymers as advanced materials. Herein, singlelayered and three-dimensional reduced graphene oxide (rGO)/ Ti 3 C 2 T x (B-rGO@Ti 3 C 2 T x ) nanohybrids were constructed using bis(2-hydroxyethyl) terephthalate (BHET) as a coupling agent between rGO and Ti 3 C 2 T x through covalent and hydrogen bonds. It is found that BHET can not only resist the weak oxidization of Ti 3 C 2 T x to some degree but also prevent the self-stacking of Ti 3 C 2 T x… Show more

“…Comparing the thermal conductivity of recent related studies (Figure 6), the composites prepared in this work show excellent thermal conductivity. [40,[56][57][58][59][60][61][62][63][64][65][66] Figure 5c illustrates the thermal performance of the CAG 40 -CNTs 20 /WPU composite under various electrical inputs. Notably, the composite material's maximum temperature escalates with the increase in applied voltage while maintaining a stable thermal state over an extended duration.…”

“…The BHET-coupled nanofiller increased the conductivity and durability of the conductive network, allowing for conductivity at higher strains comparative to similar composites without BHET. The incorporation of filler additionally increased the thermal stability of the WPU when compared to the unfilled WPU [159].…”

“…[2][3][4] Combining exclusive features such as optical, electrical and photo-responsive properties, a nanohybrid system offers advantages in different application fields including biomedical, coating, energy storage, catalysis, and sensing. [5][6][7] In the biomedical field, lightresponsive photothermal systems, that allow for a controlled release of drugs in specific regions, are appealing for more effective and safer therapy. Indeed, photothermia and drug release restricted to irradiated areas can reduce the dosage and side effects of conventional chemotherapy.…”
