Black box on earth - flight data recording at ground server stations

Abstract

With an y airplane crash, there are man y unanswered questions about how and wh y the crash has been happened. The answers are hidden inside the black box and teams are dispatched at a considerable cost to find it. In the proposed flight tracker project, the feasibilit y of transmitting data to ground stations in real time is investigated. Instead of waiting for a prolonged time for locating the black box, the valuable information can be recovered instantl y via the stations. The proposed s y stem overcomes all disadvantages of existing s y stem, such as time dela y in getting the black box, cost of dispatching search teams etc. It includes the division of area into segments and the subsequent communication between the plane and earth station of particular segment. A set of algorithms is developed to packetize the flight data, transmit it to the servers in ground stations and integrate the transmitted data to recover the flight information.We believe and hope that, this flight tracker project will contribute towards saving human lives and improving the safet y and reliabilit y of aircrafts.
