“…The results of the study indicate that use of the BRSB results in a significant reduction in interfraction variation for the rectal D2cm 3 . Taken together with the results of our previous study, use of the BRSB results in a significant reduction in the dose as well as the inter-fraction dose variation for D 2cm3 of rectum [10].…”

“…In our previously published experience with the bladdererectum spacer balloon (BRSB), the BRSB was used alternately with VGP in the same patient. We observed decreased doses to the rectum with the use of a BRSB as compared with VGP [10]. In the present study, which was planned as the second part of the first trial, we hypothesised that use of a BRSB would allow us to reduce the inter-fraction dose variation as compared with VGP.…”

“…In our country, its morbidity still ranks (Li et al, 2011). The surveys demonstrated that the increase of women with cervical cancer less than 35 years old is particularly significant Rai et al, 2013). The possible causes that result in cervical cancer to tend to occur in the young (Berois N et al, 2013;McCann et al, 2013) include remarkable increase of HPV infection rate, especially the high-risk HPV 16 and 18 infection closely related to cervical cancer, unhealthy sexual behavior and unmatured age on the first sexual intercourse (Zhao et al, 2012).…”

“…[112][113][114] Similar to the abovementioned application for rectal wall dosimetry, real-time vaginal wall dosimetry at a well-defined point could be facilitated if IVD probes were embedded in the surface of the intracavitary inflatable balloons.…”
