The Internet of vehicles (IoV) has appeared as an effective method of obtaining an intelligent transportation system able to deliver various innovative solutions and enable several applications as a replacement for vehicular ad‐hoc networks (VANETs). To help IoV contexts, enormous quantities of information are created and transmitted between various communication components wirelessly across multiple channels, which may entice attackers and put the network at risk. Security is one of the vital concerns and critical issues in VANETs and IoV networks. Blockchain is employed to create a distributed and secure IoV to overcome some centralized concerns and enhance the network architecture. This article presents a systematic and detailed review by selecting 28 review articles from 2018 to 2022 on blockchain‐based IoV (BIoV). We investigate the latest review and survey articles regarding their aspects, contributions, findings, limitations, and strong points to address unsolved problems of BIoV. In this article, the review/survey articles are systematically reviewed to resolve taxonomy aspects intended for BIoV. We provide a new taxonomy and discuss security concerns, open issues, and future directions so that researchers in this field can quickly and easily access recent content and do not need to read numerous review articles.

Intelligent and networked vehicles help build an efficient vehicular network's infrastructure. The widespread use of electronic software exposes these networks to cyber‐attacks. Intrusion detection systems (IDS) are useful for preventing vehicle network assaults. IDS have been customized using machine and deep learning networks for greater real‐time performance. Current learning‐based intrusion detection systems demand substantial processing capabilities to train and update intricate training models in vehicular devices, resulting in decreased efficiency and ability to defend against assaults. This study presents Blockchain‐based Multi‐Layer Federated Extreme Learning Machines (MLFEM) enabled IDS (BEF‐IDS) for safe data transfers. The proposed IDS leverages federated learning to generate Multi‐Layered Extreme Learning Machines, which are offloaded to dispersed vehicular edge devices such as Road‐Side Units (RSU) and connected vehicles. This federated strategy decreases resource use without sacrificing security. Blockchain technology records and shares training models, assuring network security. Using real‐time data sets, the suggested algorithm's performance under different attack scenarios were extensively tested. The suggested method obtained 98% accuracy and Recall, 97.9% Precision, and 97.9% F1 Score performance, which suggests it's incredibly secure and costs very little to transmit.

Blockchain (BC) technologies and cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) have the capability of reforming transport systems' sustainability, safety, and efficiency. AI-powered solutions allow autonomous vehicles (AVs) to respond to potential hazards, navigate complex environments, make intelligent decisions, and examine real-time data. BC technologies offer secure and decentralized platforms for data management and sharing, fostering trust and cooperation among different stakeholders in the transportation system. An Autonomous Transport System (ATS) for secure vehicle and cargo matching intends to enhance and optimize transportation by using AVs and ensuring the secure transportation of goods. This mechanism combined AV technology, secure matching, and cargo tracking methods to securely and efficiently transport goods from one place to another. In this aspect, this article presents a Blockchain Assisted Vehicle and Cargo Matching using Optimal Fuzzy Restricted Boltzmann Machine (BAVCM-OFRBM) technique for Autonomous Transport System. The major aim of the BAVCM-OFRBM technique lies in the development of an automated vehicle and cargo matching approach using an optimal DL model. In addition, the BAVCM-OFRBM technique makes use of BC technology to secure transportation details such as order and shipment information. Moreover, the BAVCM-OFRBM technique exploits the FRBM model for the selection of appropriate vehicles and cargo for transportation purposes. Finally, the efficacy of the FRBM model can be improved by the use of Ingenious Crow Search Algorithm (ICSA) based hyperparameter tuning process. The simulation results of the BAVCM-OFRBM technique are tested under different aspects. The experimental outcomes emphasized the betterment of the BAVCM-OFRBM method in vehicle and cargo matching process.
