“…The importance that jazz festivals can be seen through the academic efforts to reveal the influence they have on audiences, communities and people's experiences. Jazz festival and audiences have been explored according to market segmentation Saayman 2013, 2017;Thrane, 2002), economic impact (Bracalente et al, 2011;Brown et al, 2002;Vecco and Srakar, 2017), place image (Curtis, 2010;Van Aalst and Van Melik, 2012) and management practices (Luonila and Johansson, 2016;Tkaczynski and Stokes, 2010). Drawing from the history of (European) jazz festivals, George McKay (2018) recalled their complex nature in terms of novelty, and a fluid aspect which is visible worldwide.…”

“…They help build the image of the host country and can even be used effectively in the country's promotional materials. It is a well-known fact that this in turn can affects the economy, including additional revenue and employment growth (Bruwer & Kelley, 2015;Cianga, 2020;Crompton et al, 2001;Duarte et al, 2018;Felsenstein & Fleischer, 2003;Gamage & Higgs, 1996;Gursoy et al, 2004;Kim & Petrick, 2005;Rivera et al, 2015;Tohmo, 2005;Vecco & Srakar, 2017). However, these economic benefits may be overestimated as the majority of spending happens within the festival space that is often not operated by the local residents (Long & Perdue, 1990).…”
