“…Given the demonstrated clinical outcomes of the use of EMD and its in vitro effects on the osteoblastic differentiation of miPSCs in this study and on various cell types reported elsewhere, EMD may represent a suitable matrix to be used with ACS for iPSCs in periodontal regenerative therapy. Recently, a new formulation of EMD in a liquid carrier system (Osteogain ® ) has been introduced . Our results are corroborated by a report that this liquid formulation of EMD in combination with ACS induced osteoblast attachment and differentiation …”

“…Further advantages of using EMD without its PGA carrier include more fluid consistency and subsequent improvement of surface coating and penetration of enamel matrix proteins (EMPs) within the bone biomaterials coupled with the capacity for a gradual release of EMPs with time . In addition, a liquid carrier system for EMD possesses favorable physicochemical properties that facilitate adsorption of amelogenin on an absorbable collagen sponge and may additionally enhance periodontal wound healing/regeneration compared with the liquid carrier system for EMD . From these results, the hydrophilic C‐terminus of amelogenin peptide may be effective for periodontal regeneration, similar to the liquid carrier system for EMD.…”

“…The μCT imaging system (μCT50, Scanco Medical, Brüttisellen, Switzerland) was used to evaluate the osteogenesis within the defect region. The study parameters used were previously reported26293031. The scanning parameters, reconstructed parameters and analysis parameters were entered into the μCT scanner.…”

“…Mineralized bone tissue was differentially segmented with a fixed low threshold (value = 184). The bone volume fractions (BV/TV), trabecular thickness (Tb.Th) and tissue mineral density were automatically collected and analyzed using the μCT software as previously described26293031. Representative sections were taken from the vertical view, and a representative cube of VOI was acquired by 3D reconstruction.…”
