Bone Marrow in the Lungs: Extremis of Sickle Cell Crisis

Abstract

Bone marrow necrosis & subsequent fat embolization syndrome(FES) is common in sickle cell crisis(SCC). The embolization of infarcted marrow itself is rare & likely fatal.
