Abstract: Background Osteoporosis is characterized by low systemic bone mineral content and destruction of bone microarchitecture. Promoting bone regeneration and reversing its loss by infusion of exogenous bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) is a potentially effective treatment for osteoporosis.
