Abstract:When focused in air, ultrashort pulse lasers generate a plasma that produces ultrabroadband radio frequency (RF) radiation via both ponderomotive and plasma wake field current mechanisms. We have performed experiments with high energy pulses and pulse durations up to 5 ps, while holding the power constant.
