Boronic acid functionalized graphene quantum dots as a fluorescent probe for selective and sensitive glucose determination in microdialysate

Abstract: 3-Aminobenzeneboronic acid functionalized graphene quantum dots (APBA-GQDs) were synthesized and used as a selective and sensitive sensing system for glucose. Combined with microdialysis, glucose was monitored successfully in vivo in the striatum of rat.

“…[30,31] As shown in Figure 6, addition of glucose to HPAMAMs-B3 solution results in an immediate decrease in intrinsic fluorescence (ex 310 nm, em 378 nm), reaching a maximum decrement of about 86.68% after 3 min. In the case of HPAMAMs-B1 and HPAMAMs-B2, the maximum decrement is around 85.66 and 76.06%, respectively.…”

“…[ 29,31 ] The specifi c bindings between PBA and diols are widely used to construct micelles, hydrogels, and biosensors. [32][33][34] In addition, PBA is capable of forming reversible covalent esters with the ribose ring of DNA or siRNA, thus cationic polymers modifi ed with PBA can bind with nucleic acid via the boronic ester linkage except ionic interactions. [ 35 ] PBA containing polymers are also used as gene vectors based on these promising properties.…”
