Abstract:We review the topological gauge theory of the superconductor-to-superinsulator transition. The possible intermediate Bose metal phase intervening between these two states is a bosonic topological insulator. We point out that the correct treatment of a bosonic topological insulator requires a normally neglected, additional dimensionless parameter, which arises because of the non-commutativity between the infinite gap limit and phase space reduction. We show that the bosonic topological insulator is a functional… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
